- As the Joes invade Springfield, Dr. Mindbender combines the DNA of history's greatest soldiers and military leaders to create Serpentor

"Serpentor...is that my name? I seem to remember...others..."

- Serpentor leads the Cobra troops against the Joes in the Battle of Springfield. 

"Push the cowards out of my way, I'm going back into the fight!"

- Serpentor quickly begins to usurp Cobra Commander's leadership after an assassination attempt.

"You wouldn't want your public to know that you set up such a popular fellow as me for a target?"

- Serpentor leads an attack on the Pit, after which Cobra Commander is presumed dead.

- An argument between Serpentor and Cobra Commander (Fred VII) turns into all-out civil war on Cobra Island. 

"There wouldn't have been a need to create me if you had been doing your job right in the first place!"
 

- Serpentor argues with Hawk as the Joes join forces with him during the Cobra civil war. 
 

- Tired of Fred VII's ineffectual leadership, Zartan ends the Cobra civil war when he kills Serpentor with an arrow.
