PAINE BROTHERS, THE. Sadistic torturers, the Paine Brothers are actually siblings. DeSade, Crispo and Torquemada were hired by Cobra and were assigned by the Baroness to torture Snake-Eyes while he was imprisoned in the Cobra Consulate. Before the brothers could torture him, Snake-Eyes used an old ninja trick, making them think his heart had stopped. Once their guard was down, the commando attacked them. Crispo threw a potful of hot coals at him, scarring his recently reconstructed face, but nowhere near as bad as his original disfigurement. Snake-Eyes then attacked the brothers, though it is uncertain if they survived. The Joe took Crispo's mask to cover his newly scarred face, Torquemada's blades and DeSade's uniform, and would keep wearing the clothes for the next year or so. (#95)
PEOPLE'S REVOLUTIONARY BRIGADE OF MEXICO. A group of terrorists fighting against "U.S. imperialism and Mexico's corrupt counterrevolutionary puppet government". The group, led by Ignazio, attacked a bus full of American tourists -- including Quick Kick and Outback -- outside of Merida, in Mexico's Yucatan state. Two of the tourists were killed before Quick Kick and Outback fought back with the help of some of the tourists. They were all rescued by Stalker, who had stayed behind at the Joes' hotel. (SM #27)
PYTHON PATROL. To help sell aging Cobra weapons and vehicles to potential buyers, Cobra upgraded them with the "Pythonizing" process. Developed by Dr. Mindbender, the process covered vehicles with radar reflecting paint and patterns designed to make them almost invisible to electronic detection. Pythonized uniforms were also made for a few types of Cobra troops. These vehicles and troops combined were nicknamed the Python Patrol. They first saw action along the border between Darklonia and Wolkekuckuckland. Pythonized vehicles included Cobra STUNs and ASPs, along with a number of surplus American Conquest jet fighters. Pythonized troops included Cobra troopers, Vipers and Tele-Vipers, as well as various vehicle drivers and pilots. (#88, 99, 100, SM #28)
