BACK STOP. The code name used by G.I. Joe team member Robert A. Levin. Born in Montreal, Quebec in Canada,  Back Stop operated the team's laser tank, the Persuader. On his first mission, Back Stop was part of a team sent to Frusenland to provide security for the U.S. military research team, Battle Force 2000. During the mission, the team was attacked by Cobra forces who had allied themselves with the government of Frusenland. Back Stop and the other Joes were being affected by Cobra's "paranoia waves," and were nearly defeated, if not for the intervention of the very team they were sent to protect, Battle Force 2000. Back Stop only served on the team for a few missions. Today, like many former Joes, Back Stop is a reserve member if the current Joe team. He was assigned to domestic operations in the United States during the conflict known as World War III.

One of many Joes listed on the World War III member assignment map first seen in AE #28.
