 AHMED. The leader of a tribe of Afghani rebels based in the Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan. Ahmed and his men were assigned a CIA liaison to help in their fight against the Soviets. In 1982, Ahmed's tribe helped the Joes in their mission to track down a crashed U.S. spy plane. Years later, Ahmed made a deal with the U.S. to give the Joe team three Russian prisoners in exchange for a dozen cases of Stinger missiles.(GI 6; SM 9) |
