 CASTLE DESTRO. The ancestral home of the Destro family, located near Callander, Scotland. The castle is defended by the Destros' personal guard. While working with Cobra in the early 1980s, James McCullen Destro XXIV spent years away from Castle Destro. He returned to find an imposter pretending to be him. With the G.I. Joe team's help, he exposed the imposter to be Major Bludd after a brief skirmish. Castle Destro served as the headquarters for his weapons manufacturing company, MARS. Cobra, under the leadership of Fred VII posing as Cobra Commander, launched an assault on the castle to deal with Destro's potential threat. When the battle ended, Destro had the upper hand and used it to take control of Cobra. Months later, he retired to the castle for years before it was again attacked by Cobra, this time led by the original Cobra Commander. The battle left Castle Destro in ruins. Destro eventually moved to Cobra's Silent Castle, reconfiguring it to resemble the original Castle Destro.
