| Summary: (Continued from issue #14) Esterhazy's group and the Joes hear the sounds of artillery in the mountains above their camp and witness Peng's Chinese troops attacking the Monastery of the Hidden Valley. After the Abbot surrenders, another group of Esterhazy's rebels attack Peng's men and get wiped out. Esterhazy decides he will surrender himself, but the Joes insist on helping him rescue the Abbot, no matter what Agent Anderson's true mission is.
After climbing the sheer side of the mountain the monastery sits on, the Joes, Esterhazy and his surviving rebels sneak past Peng's defenses and rescue the Abbot. They escape but are pursued by a small group of Chinese troops. They are about to be overtaken when Esterhazy decides to stay behind to cover their escape, guaranteeing he will be killed. Hours later, the Joes prepare to leave the valley, but Anderson has a change of heart and takes Esterhazy's place leading the remaining rebels.
