BLIZZARD. The code name used by U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Gregory M. Natale, born in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Blizzard led an experimental security team in Tule, Greenland for an entire winter to determine what conditioning and training best prepared soldiers for Arctic combat. The training and conditioning was found to have little effect, and only the toughest and meanest -- like Blizzard -- survived. Blizzard worked with the G.I. Joe team before it was shut down in 1994. Today, like many Joes, Blizzard is a reserve member of of the team. Blizzard was stationed in Russia during the conflict known as World War III.
