FREE FALL. The code name used by U.S. Army Sergeant Philip W. Arndt, born in Downers Grove, Illinois. Free Fall passed the grueling Airborne Ranger program and loved every minute of it, and has earned a Masters degree in Eastern Philosophy. He is known for being honest to a fault, but also having a large ego. Free Fall became a member of the G.I. Joe team befure it was shut down in 1994. Today, like many Joes, Free Fall is a reserve member of of the team. He was stationed in the former Soviet nation of Georgia during the conflict known as World War III.

One of many Joes listed on World War III member assignment map first seen in AE #28.

Free Fall's second action figure, released in 2009, has the same file name and biography but the character is named "Spc. Altitude". Many later action figures were renamed by Hasbro, often due to the loss of copyrights to use those names.
