MAJOR STORM. The code name used by U.S. Army Major Robert G. Swanson, born in Providence, Rhode Island. Major Storm joined the G.I. Joe team as driver of the General armored vehicle, and was one of the defenders of the Pit when Cobra Commander attacked the Utah base. He worked for the G.I. Joe team until it was shut down in 1994. Today, like many Joes, he is a reserve member of the team. He participated in the conflict known as World War III.
