MED ALERT. The code name used by U.S. Army Corporal Kirk Bacus, born in Nashville, Tennessee. Bacus worked in the E.R. of an inner city hospital before enlisting. He eventually worked as a medic with the reinstated G.I. Joe team, where he also served as a Tai Chi Chuan instructor, a martial art he learned from a patient. Today, like many Joes, he is a reserve member of the team. Med Alert was assigned to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center during the conflict known as World War III.

One of many Joes listed on World War III member assignment map first seen in AE #28.
