SIDE TRACK. The code name used by U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Sean C. McLaughlin, born in Hingham, MA. After his uncle took him on an inspirational safari when he was only ten years old, Side Track became fascinated with the wilderness and became a survival expert. He joined the reinstated G.I. Joe team as a wilderness survival specialist and demolitions expert. Today, like many Joes, he is a reserve member of the team. Side Track served in Colombia during the conflict known as World War III.

One of many Joes listed on World War III member assignment map first seen in AE #28.

The similarly-named action figure "Sidetrack" was released two years later, using a different file name.
