DOC. The code name used by U.S. Army Captain Carla P. Greer, born in Concord, Massachusetts. Carla was the niece of the G.I. Joe team's original, now deceased medic, Carl "Doc" Greer. She graduated from the Wayne State University School of Medicine and began her residency at a inner-city Detroit hospital. After growing weary of the gang violence that represented the bulk of emergencies she treated, Carla decided to follow in the footsteps of her uncle. After enlisting, she graduated at the top of her class at the Army Medical Department's Officer Advanced Course. Upon her chosen assignment as special operations medic, she was promptly recruited for G.I. Joe. Today, like many Joes, he is a reserve member of the team. Like her uncle, the new Doc is a pacifist and a chaplain's assistant. Doc was assigned to Walter Reed Army Medical Center during the conflict known as World War III.

One of many Joes listed on World War III member assignment map first seen in AE #28.

The original Carla "Doc" Greer appeared in the separate continuity of the G.I. Joe Reloaded comic series, but was intended to replace the original Doc in the new continuity, not be his relative. An exclusive action figure released at the 2007 International G.I.Joe Convention introduced her to the original G.I. Joe continuity as the original Doc's niece.
