 RED SPOT. The code name used by U.S. Army Corporal Michael P. Ritchie, from Cincinatti, Ohio. Fascinated with science fiction, Ritchie built his first laser device at age nine. His interest in lasers continued as he grew up until he joined the Army where he helped develop various laser weapons. Red Spot was later assigned to the reinstated G.I. Joe team. During the conflict known as World War III, Red Spot was stationed in China.(AE 25 (cover); Figure: 1) |
