RECOIL. The code name used by U.S. Army Sergeant Joseph Felton from Fashion Island, Washington. Recoil was a marathon runner and professional body builder before joining the Army and eventually G.I. Joe. His physical conditioning qualified him for Long Range Recon Patrol, requiring stealth and speed. One of his first missions for the Joes was as a member of a recon team operating during the Battle of Benzheen, when the Joe team invaded the desert nation in their biggest operation to date. Recoil served on a number of classified missions for the Joes until the team was shut down in 1994. Several years later, Recoil joined the reinstated Joe team in its battle against the forces of a revived Serpentor on Cobra Island.
