ARMY CHAPLAIN'S ASSISTANT SCHOOL. The U.S. Army's Chaplain's Assistant School is located at Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island New York. The G.I. Joe team's first headquarters, the Pit, was located beneath the school's motor pool until its destruction in 1986. Apparently, the regular personnel assigned to the school were unaware that Joe team members were anything more than motor pool staff.
