BLAST-OFF. The code name used by U.S. Army Corporal Jeffrey D. Thompson, born in Kirkwood, MIssouri. Blast-Off was a flamethrower specialist with the G.I. Joe team before the team was shut down in 1994. Today, like many Joes, Blast-Off is a reserve member of of the team. He was assigned to domestic operations in the United States during the conflict known as World War III.
