| AL-ALAWI. A Middle Eastern nation that was engaged in peace talks with the United States in early 1983. The Al-Alawi Ambassador was almost assassinated during the talks by the American Ambassador, Brian Hassel. Hassel was a Cobra agent, planted in the state department years earlier. Hassel shot the ambassador seconds before the G.I. Joe team member Scarlett could stop him. The ambassador survived thanks to a bullet-proof vest. Explaining why he had the vest on, the ambassador stated: "In my land, assassinations are a fact of life!" (#9) |
| AMALGAMATED SUPER-CONDUCTOR CORPORATION. This facility in New Jersey was the home to the laboratory that developed the Rail Gun prototype. The Night Creepers infiltrated the facility in 1993, under orders from Cobra, stealing the Rail Gun and kidnapping Dr. Biggles-Jones. (#135) |
| ARASHIKAGE MARTIAL ARTS ACADEMY. Located in San Francisco, the Arashikage Martial Arts Academy was owned and operated by Tommy Arashikage, a.k.a. Storm Shadow. The academy was opened after Storm Shadow spent several months living in Snake-Eyes' cabin in the High Sierras. Besides the continued training of Billy, Storm Shadow apparently instructed other students as well. The academy was abandoned by Storm Shadow after Zartan and a band of Red Ninjas attacked it, looking for Storm Shadow. The address for the academy was 4498 Zoe Avenue and the phone number was 555-5277. (#85) |
| ARBCO BROTHERS CIRCUS. The Arbco Brothers Circus housed a contingent of Cobra's Crimson Guardsmen and was operated by the Crimson Guard commanders, Tomax and Xamot. The circus was closed after members of the G.I. Joe team discovered Cobra's involvement after a brief battle between Joe and Cobra forces at the circus while it was located near Staten Island. | ARMY CHAPLAIN'S ASSISTANT SCHOOL. The U.S. Army's Chaplain's Assistant School is located at Fort Wadsworth in Staten Island New York. The G.I. Joe team's first headquarters, the Pit, was located beneath the school's motor pool until its destruction in 1986. Apparently, the regular personnel assigned to the school were unaware that Joe team members were anything more than motor pool staff until the Pit was destroyed. |
