XK-1 POWER CROSSBOW. A powerful military crossbow that is used primarily for its relative silence compared to other firearms. Scarlett is a qualified expert with the XK-1.

XMLR-1A. An experimental military laser rifle developed around 1980. The XMLR-1A was a shoulder-fired rifle that fired a sustained laser beam that could be used to burn through almost anything. Looking for a place to test their prototype, the Army chose the G.I. Joe team because of the relative secrecy of their missions and the Joe team's use of the highest technology the military had to offer. Flash was chosen to test the rifle based on his electronic engineering skills. The major drawback of the XMLR was the necessity of the soldier to wear a bulky backpack that powered the weapon.

XMLR-3A. An advanced version of the experimental laser military rifle. The XMLR-3A was a more compact weapon that its predecessor in the field, the 1A. Designed to be a different type of weapon, the 3A sacrificed some of the power of the 1A to make a more flexible weapon, which no longer required a backpack power source. The rifle was again tested by the G.I. Joe team, but while the 1A was used by an engineer (Flash), the 3A was tested by Snow Job, one of the team's most skilled snipers. Other models followed, but laser rifles have yet to be made cost-efficient enough to use in general combat situations. This rifle seems to be the basis for the rifle used most often in the original G.I. Joe cartoon series.
