CHECKPOINT. The code name used by U.S. Army Corporal Jared Wade, born in Springboro, Ohio. Checkpoint was a college wrestler whose main rival was future G.I. Joe team member Major Barrage. He was also a skilled carpenter. After enlistment, Checkpoint became a military police officer and worked with G.I. Joe as part of the small team known as the Steel Brigade. Today, like many Joes, he is a reserve member of the team. During the conflict known as World War III, Checkpoint was part of the security team at The Coffin, the Joe team's high security prison in Greenland.
